This is one of Sammi Cheng’s first hit in her 1993 acting debut The Vampire Returns where she played 3 different characters that showcase her amazing talent. The show though was more than 30 years ago, has quite a touching storyline, and this theme song brought the feel of the lead female character to perfection. Because Chinese New Year always kind of give me a whimsical and nostalgic feeling, as I could no longer celebrate fully with my parents, I tend to attach this type of sentimental song..
I’ve included the English translation done to the best of my ability because I could not find any in the web. I referred to Google Translate but have modified the English version based on my limited understanding of poetic Cantonese….. which may not be 100 accurate, but at least helps to convey the gist of the song.
