Taman OUG- food, craft supplies, bakery and market

Selangor

On weekends both day and night if you head on to Taman OUG garden (Overseas Union Garden), you would be able to find lots of food to eat. During weekends (Saturday and Sunday), there is a relatively large morning market to shop for fresh ingredients, clothings and everyday items.

There are also a few Chinese restaurants that are mostly packed with people. You can browse around to find one which serves the dish that you particularly feel like eating, for example chicken rice, wantan mee, economy rice with dishes or nasi lemak.

Towards the afternoon about 3pm or 4pm, there would be few stalls opening in front of the restaurants that sells fresh bread, various local delicacies like nyonya kuih, bak chang, etc.

There are also shops selling craft supplies, gifts, bakery and prayer items:

Overall, unlike places like SS2 or shopping complex, you are not going to find a large variety of shops here. However, on weekends many families who are not from the area would travel from far to go to the market and then sit down and have breakfast at the restaurant. Or sometimes they would arrive around lunch time to have some food before heading to the shopping complex of their choice.

How to get to Taman OUG:

In order to locate the place, you may key in BHP Petrol Taman OUG (Jalan Hujan Emas 4) in Waze. Once you reach the petrol station, would understand what I mean- the place is very packed on weekdays (lunch time) and almost the whole day on weekends. There is no much parking available hence due to that cars that double and triple park along the roadside usually ended up causing the traffic jam.
