Spotlight- arts and crafts supplier

Craft & Creative Supplies

Initially when I visited Spotlight in Ikano Power Center (IPC), I thought it was a store selling home decoration product. But as I venture inwards, lo and behold….the store carries a HUGE variety of imported arts and craft supplies.

If Spotlight would have opened years ago back in the days when I was actively crafting, I would have spend a large chunk of my salary there. You know how it is like when you watch videos of crafters or artists but could not find the supplies they are using? You can try to find it via Spotlight. If you are not staying in Selangor or Kuala Lumpur, you can shop for their items online via their website.

Jewelry and beads

Below are various kinds of prepacked beads. I believe it is priced higher than the typical beads you find in other craft suppliers (example Petaling Jaya, Petaling Street, Masjid India or Semua House)

Below are jewelry findings, rings and accessories to be used in making jewelry, bracelets or necklaces:

This is something hard to find- crafters tools consisting of pliers that are used mainly for jewelry making. It is one of the first time I see a store selling this- when I was making necklaces years ago, I had to resort to buying pliers from the hardware store to shape the wires.

Below are storage that you can use to store your small items such as beads and findings. These are specialised for crafting items. What I did use previously to store my beads and findings are small stationery compartmentalised boxes that I got from AEON Big (MrDIY and Daiso now sells them too).

Ribbons, yarns and threads

I really love ribbons – the colours and the designs. When I first begin to craft, I work with beads but eventually moved on to use ribbons. Specially, I use ribbons to make hairclips and fridge magnets. Spotlight has a large selection of ribbons of every design and colour:
