I remember when Wong Kok Cha Char Teng (旺角茶餐厅) first opened in SS2, it was really popular and packed. Wong Kok basically serve Hong Kong based food (non halal).
It is a place that we have had our reunions in and later, my family often visiting Wong Kok. Reason is because it serves a mixture of food from Chinese, Western, finger food and desserts. But I must admit, what draws me to Wong Kok the most is the delicious milk tea.
Usually when I am in Wong Kok, I usually order quite similar dish- I would have their chicken chop set with black pepper sauce:
The set comes with selection of soup but I usually select mushroom soup and tea. It also have a small slice garlic bread and pudding. The one you see above is the serving at the One Utama outlet. When I went to SS2 outlet in the past, I used to get about a third or a quarter of a real corn. Portion have reduced too. Hehe, the ice tea is too delicious to resist so I drank some while waiting for my meal to arrive.
We also ordered dessert.
Wong Kok has introduced set lunch which is affordable and I could see quite popular with customers because the restaurant is usually crowded during lunch time when I am there.
As you can see, for RM12.90 to RM14.90 ++, you can order a dish with a choice of drink and a dessert.
You can compare this with the portion of the Western meal that cost twice the amount of set lunch.
I usually visit the Wong Kok located in SS2 or One Utama. But if I am bringing my mom, who is wheelchair bound, I would visit the one at One Utama as the mall is wheelchair friendly. The outlet in SS2 consists of staircase which my mom finds it difficult to go.
