When I studied in university, our textbooks and revision books are mostly in English language. These are important books and different lecturers would require different text books to be used for each semester.
Even when I was in pre university, I remember my physics tuition teacher taught us physics using the first year books on physics used by engineering student (The Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday and Resnick)… even though it has been years, I still remember the name of the book.
Those days, we could not find these textbooks from conventional book stores like MPH or Popular. We would need to buy them from University bookstore.
Initially University bookstore was a bookstore located on the upper floors at the shoplot next to Maybank sect 14. The bookstore has really grown from its humble settings to occupy the upper floor of Jaya Supermarket in Petaling Jaya:
