Where to buy traditional Indian calendar in Petaling Jaya

Organize

Towards the end of each year, we would be on the lookout for the next year’s calendar. When I visited Kavitha’s that sells Indian food in Taman Selera PJ Old Town, I noticed they also sell traditional Indian/ Tamil/ Hindu calendar for 2019 called the Anjali calendar which costs only RM5.

Note: If you are not able to find the calendar or do not stay in PJ area, you can try purchasing the calendar online as it is usually available all year round. There are also various Tamil calendar apps that you can download to your phone.

Traditional Indian calendar It mentioned that the Anjali Calendar contains Hindu fast days, festivals, Thithi and Natchathiram dates which are calculated based on Malaysian and Indian Vakiya Panjangam to Malaysian time. The information are compiled by Dr Karull from Malaysia.

Traditional Indian calendar

The calendar is available for sale at Kavitha’s, which sells Indian dishes (vegetarian and non vegetarian, rotis and Indian snacks) located in Taman Selera, PJ Old Town at Jalan Othman, Petaling Jaya.

Reason I wish to write this article is because as the year ends, I would be on the lookout for the next’s year calendar. Usually for traditional calendar you would see the Islamic calendar, Feng Shui calendar and Racing Horse calendar but it is hard to find a traditional Indian calendar with auspicious date.

While I was at Kavitha- it was not obvious that they were selling the calendar- I was curious when I saw the Anjali calendar hanging on the wall and proceeded to ask one of the staff about the calendar which I was told that they do sell it. Hopefully this article helps if you happen to be looking for this calendar…. and staying in PJ area.
