For this upcoming Merdeka celebrations, Sunway Pyramid have spared no expenses in coming up with the decorations and lightings. In fact, you can expect elaborate decorations and lighting during each major and festive celebrations.
The view in Sunway Pyramid is best enjoyed on a clear night. If you have friends from overseas, aside from taking them to the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, KL Tower and going around town, you should also consider going to Sunway Pyramid for the night view.
Below are their beautiful Hari Kebangsaan or Merdeka themed decorations:
The above is located at the first turning to Sunway Pyramid (if you are taking the road to go to Sunway Resort Hotel). A beautiful and colourful Selamat Hari Kebangsaan would be greeting you.
The mini roundaround (going to Sunway Pyramid) is also decorated with Hari Kebangsaan theme. And the theme would change according to each festival.
There are Merdeka theme hanging lights along the roads around Sunway Resort City:
Below is a small park located in front the Sunway Resort hotel which is decorated with the theme. And the decorations also change on each festival season.
When I first wrote about Sunway Pyramid night view in 2010, I did not see as many tourists. Mostly are families visiting the area to take photos together. However as I went there this month…wow, there are many tourists happily enjoying the night view and snapping photos as well as tour buses parked along the roads.
An extensive overhead pedestrian walkway bridge is being build that connects Sunway Pyramid and its surrounding areas to the Sunway Lagoon BTS train station.

Thanks for your updates. Yes I do notice the festive decoration is really really extended to cover a large area. I went there expecting to just take a look at the night view and I am pleasantly surprised to see such elaborate decorations for Hari Kebangsaan.
