Old fashioned mooncake festival tanglung/latern making in Petaling Street

During mooncake festival, children would play with tang lung or laterns. The tang lung or laterns that I grew up with were made of hamper papers and steel wires. Later battery operated ones were introduced and the latest I see this year is the cute moving minions.

While visiting Petaling Street, I came across a shop selling tang lungs with many old fashioned ones:

Below are the old fashioned tanglungs that I mentioned:

As I walked into the store, I saw some blank tanglung wire frames:

And a lady was sitting by the counter slowing placing hamper papers on the wire frames:

This shop also sell party supplies and when it comes to other festivals like Raya, Christmas or Chinese New Year, they would be selling the respective festival’s items. But the shop would carry Chinese decorative items all year round… you can see the little cute miniature lion:
