Pragin Mall is situated right next to Komtar. It is a popular shopping center now while Komtar had greatly fade from its formal glory.
Years ago, Komtar was one of the most happening shopping complex for Penangnites to hang out in. It is crowded and all the shops enjoy brisk business. But as the years go by, more and more shopping complexes were being built.
But buses will put Komtar as their destination because everyone will know where it is. Usually if you are getting from one part of the island to another, say from Bayan Lepas to Ayer Itam, you will need to change the bus at Komtar. And you need to ask around because the place you get down from the bus would not be the same place that you need to wait for the bus for your next destination. The main bus station that was build decades ago can no longer accomodate the number of travellers and the servicing routes- so some buses will stop at other nearby areas.
