There are cute puppies, kittens, cats and dogs available for adoption at SPCA, Furry Friends Farm and PAWS. If you are looking for a new pet, you can look here- where the pups and kittens have been dewormed.
Alternatively, if it is not convenient for you to keep a pet, you can offer your support by donating to these animal shelters in order for them to continue cause. There are costs required for having workers to take care of these animals to clean and feed them, as well as to buy animal food.

3. PAWS Malaysia
I have been to PAWS a few times to visit and to make some donations in the past. They do their best to house unwanted strays but they are very honest to mention that if there is no space availability, the unwanted animals would be “put to sleep”. The website also contained advise on consideration before you want to adopt a pet, and what to do if your pet is missing– with the contact number of the council animal pounds. I’ve always like the straightforwardness and honesty of the founder that gets reflected in the words on the website.

If you are an animal lover but unable to keep any pets (due to you already have many pets or you do not stay in a landed property), then you may go to any of the shelters to offer your service- help them feed or bathe the animals. Your kindness would be very much appreciated and you would be putting your time to good use.
