Recently I needed to develop large volume of photos and was looking around for the shop that can offer me the lowest price but reasonable quality.
I could not find through forums and eventually I found the shop through chance- and a little gut feeling to tell me to search there.
Even though most people prefer to store their photos digitally in the tablet, laptops, PC and social networking and photo sharing sites lie Facebook and Flickr, there are photos that we may still want to develop.
If you want to print your photos, then expect to pay RM1 per photo for less than 10 photos. That is quite standard.
However if you are developing high volume of photos, for your scrapbook, project or presentation, is there any shops in Klang Valley- that is in Petaling Jaya or Kuala Lumpur that can offer the cheapest but reasonable quality?
In Kuala Lumpur area, many people would recommend the photo shops located at Ampang Park shopping complex- which you can reach via Ampang Park Putra LRT.
I discovered a shop at SS2 which could offer to develop 4R size photos at the following price:
4R- 4 inch x 6 inch postcard
- 1 pc to 9 pcs- RM1 per copy
- 10 pcs to 49 pcs- RM0.50 per copy
- 50 pcs to 99 pcs- RM0.40 per copy
- 100 pcs and above- RM0.35 per copy.
I have read that some Harvey Norman stores can develop photos via self service for a low price even for small volume. But the machine may not calibrate the colours and exposure properly- some of the photos I developed using the self service machines come out with weird colour hues- and it cost me 60 cents only if above 10copies.
For this shop, the owner mentioned she would go through the photos to develop at proper colour hue and exposure. She also said that many of her customers were repeated customers- if the quality is bad, customers would usually not come back even if the price is reasonable. That is why I want to write about this shop because chances are they would be people who want to look for inexpensive place to develop photos.

I got the photos transferred from my pendrive to their PC. I was told to collect the photos 2 hours later. What I did was while waiting, I went to SS2 food court to order a cup of milk tea and waited. The tea tasted quite nice- and cost less than RM2.
That time was about 4pm so the foot court was not yet crowded. As usual, I brought along assignment but in the end I chatted with my friend for quite sometime on the phone. At about 6pm, I went to collect my photos and they were all ready. I used the photos for my photo project.
